This narrative is all about the sincere efforts of a nurse who worked in the Intensive Care Unit of the neurology ward of the hospital. She wanted to help those who lost their hope for living a healthy life again while suffering from severe neurological problems. Hira was a victim of a bus accident. Rahila, the nurse wanted to help that girl to recover as soon as possible. It seemed quite difficult to others to bring her to a normal healthy life that’s why her colleagues and senior doctors cracked jokes on her and advised her to stop taking care of Hira and let her stay in such miserable condition forever. She wanted to fight for her because she had a special sympathy for the patient.
So she discussed the matter with the senior nurse but she said the doctor-in-charge want to shift the girl to the general ward as the chances of her recovery were low. Hira’s family made a request to her so she put all her efforts and was successful in keeping Hira in ICU. She worked really hard on Hira’s exercises but she was not showing much progress. But one day Hira was able to raise her little finger and that showed a ray of hope to Rahila. Then Rahila was sent to Karachi for a three months’ training course. When she returned she saw Hira’s bed vacant. She was in a state of shock, then someone patted on her shoulder and that person was none other than Hira who was standing on crutches with a smile on her face. That was the moment of intense relief for Rahila as her efforts and determination were fruitful in bringing Hira to her normal life.

Whenever I step into the land of my childhood recollections, I always find myself a very innocent, truthful, simple-natured and respectful child. It is not an exaggeration but the truth.
I can justify it with one of the recounts of my childhood. I think it is the incident that happened 3 years ago.
It was summer. Sweating, hot weather and short temperament of the people could be seen quite clearly around me. Children were in high spirits as having a long break from school in the form of summer vacations. My siblings and I were also enjoying our holidays. And then, one day…
On an especially hot day, we were extremely bored. My elder sister made a plan to have the fresh, unripe guavas from none other than the tree of our neighbors. Our mother was having a sweet nap in the afternoon in an air-conditioned room; we were also lying by her side. Then one by one we crawled out from our places and met in the drawing room. After a conference of 10 minutes, it was decided that my younger brother and I had to go and fetch some guavas from the neighbor’s tree.
Although we had begun our mission like a ghost, all of us were fearful of our mother. Because while she was extremely caring, she was also very strict.
My brother and I opened the gate and started treading towards the neighbor’s house which was standing there with a tree full with tempting and green guavas. The street was as quiet as a graveyard, you could not find even a single bird flying in the sky under the scorching sun.
When we reached the gate of the neighbor’s, my brother said, “Let’s steal some of the best guavas and run.” But being an honest and truthful person, I said that rather than stealing the guavas we should take permission from the residents to have some guavas from their tree.
Time was very short and we had to take a prompt decision, so I rang the bell. As soon as the lady came out, we just greeted her and I asked if we could take some guavas from her tree. With a smiling face, she gave us the permission. We thanked her and got some of the best guavas from the tree and ran away.
Just at the moment, we reached the gate of our home, we found our mother standing there, looking angry, whereas my elder sister and the youngest brother were hiding behind the door with embarrassed faces. Before she started scolding us, I hastily said that we hadn’t stolen the guavas, we had taken permission from the neighbor’s and then we got these.
She didn’t say anything to us at that time but we never dared to do such a thing again in our life.
